When reading renowned neurologist Dr. David Perlmutter’s, #1 New York Times Bestseller “Grain Brain,” I was amazed to learn that coconut oil could help prevent or even treat neurodegenerative diseases like Alzheimer’s, dementia and others. He described coconut oil as a super fuel for the brain.
In the section where he gives supplement recommendations, he suggests consuming 1 teaspoon of coconut oil a day. I was amazed and decided that if consuming just 1 teaspoon of coconut oil a day could make such a difference in brain function and health, I was going to figure out how to make sure I was getting at least that much every day.
At the time I didn’t know anything about coconut oil, so I went online to see how people used it.
There was so much information, but when I saw that people put it in their coffee, that was it for me. I’m a coffee drinker and I could do that. The next question was, would I like it?
